Sony Ericsson has changed the way they name their phones. This is reported by the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog. Their scheme below shows how the system works. First letter is for series, C for Cybershot etc., second number is for range (high, mid, low), third number is for version and the last number is for form factor. “i” for international will be omitted.

According to The UIQ Evangelist the G900 has a new processor called EMP Arm 9 and 128 MB RAM.

Also announced by Sony Ericsson at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona are two UIQ smartphones in the traditional candybar form factor, with both touchscreens and normal keypads. Sony Ericsson call them “touchscreeen organizers” rather than smartphones, and this form factor should have a wider appeal than Qwerty or only touchscreen smartphones. Let’s hope this will be reflected in the price as well.

Here’s also a video of the X1, a quite Sony Bravia-like ad. It could be a wise move to use synergy effects from the Bravia brand for the Xperia multimedia brand.
